What is a Skills Inference?
Skills inference is the process where AI software analyzes a person's work history, project descriptions, or portfolio to identify specific abilities that are not explicitly stated on a resume. Instead of relying on a candidate to list every skill, the AI looks for patterns in past responsibilities and achievements to infer what the person is capable of doing. This allows the system to build a more complete profile of a candidate by connecting their past experiences to the requirements of a new role, effectively filling in the gaps left by traditional resume formats.
Why this matters to you
It helps recruiters find hidden talent by looking past simple keywords. It allows companies to identify qualified candidates who might have the right experience but lack the specific industry jargon on their resume, leading to a more diverse and capable pool of applicants.
How you might hear this
Our hiring software uses skills inference to suggest candidates who have done similar work, even if they do not have the exact job titles we requested.
